ABOUT SOLSOX
THE VISION.
It started with a sketch in a journal.
I had a vision for a type of poi that wasn’t a toy or a circus prop, but a piece of professional athletic equipment. Something durable, inspiring, and above all stylish.
But I lacked the practical know-how and skills to make these poi a reality.
Until Jennifer “Ever” Swanson re-entered my life!
On a car ride, I shared my idea and her eyes lit up. Bringing her expertise as a designer, seamstress, and entrepreneur to the fold, we jumped into a new and bold adventure together!
Months later, several prototypes, and an enormous amount of work later, we launched our idea.
That vision is now a reality! And we couldn’t be more proud.

What are Poi?
Poi is a movement art created by the Māori people of New Zealand. An integral part of Kapa Haka, ceremonial dances that tell the stories, myths, and legends of the Māori, poi has acquired a new international cachet as part of the contemporary movement art known as Flow and Circus Arts.
SolSox are a unique twist on poi and we are proud to have this beautiful tradition as part of the DNA of our art and products. We strongly advise all members of the SolSox family to learn more about the art we are descended from and the people who first created it and continue to inspire the world!
